City of Houston opens COVID-19 vaccine site free to public

The City of Houston announced that the Houston Health Department is opening the city’s first free COVID-19 vaccination clinics, expanding vaccine access to the general public at high risk of severe illness and death from coronavirus disease.

To make an appointment to receive the Moderna vaccine, please call the health department’s COVID-19 call center at 832-393-4220 between the hours of  7:30 a.m. – 4 p.m. beginning Saturday, Jan. 2. 

The call center will provide the location and appointment time for each person who registers to be vaccinated. Houston Health Department staff will screen people when they first drive into the clinic premises,
