Allegheny County reports 418 new COVID cases; 35% of eligible Pennsylvanians at least partially vaccinated

The Allegheny County Health Department [ACHD] confirmed 418 new COVID-19 cases and five new deaths from the virus Wednesday. 

The cases came from individuals from six months to 92 years old, with a median age of 34. The deaths, dated from Dec. 27 to Apr. 5, took one person in their 50s, one in their 70s, one in their 80s and two in their 90s. 

To date, ACHD has confirmed 88,573 COVID-19 cases, 1,797 deaths from the virus and 6,109 past and present hospitalizations.

The Pennsylvania Department of Health [DOH] confirmed 4,643 new COVID-19 cases and 48 new deaths Wednesday, bringing the new pandemic totals to 1,054,298 cases and 25,285 deaths. 

There are also 2,384 individuals hospitalized with COVID-19, about 19% of whom are in intensive care units. Nursing and personal care home residents and staff represent
