Maryland will open its 13th mass coronavirus vaccination site Friday at the Mall of Columbia in Howard County.
County Executive Calvin Ball announced this week that the site will begin operations at the former Lord & Taylor store space in the mall.
The location will have a soft opening Friday by appointment only. The site will operate weekly from Wednesday through Sunday from 8 a.m.-4 p.m., administering 1,000 doses daily and as many as 3,000, depending on vaccine supply.
“Howard County is a central location in Maryland and easily accessible to many residents from across the state,” Ball said in a statement. “We worked diligently with the governor and our state partners to finalize logistical details and agreements for this site, and are excited to see it open this week.”
Walk-up appointments won’t be allowed at the site and registrations are being accepted.
