Starting Monday, the Tulsa Health Department will be offering booster shots of the Moderna and Johnson & Johnson COVID-19 vaccines.

The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention recently announced its recommendation that certain people get a third dose.

People who are considered high risk, including people over the age of 65, people with underlying conditions, and people who live in long-term care facilities, are encouraged to get the booster shot.

According to the CDC, people seeking booster shots may get any of the three booster options regardless of the manufacturer of your first round of shots.

Be sure to consult with a physician if you have any concerns about side effects from a particular brand.

To schedule a booster shot appointment with the Tulsa Health Department, visit vaccinate918.com. You must have an appointment to get the shot.

A vaccination site will be set up at the Tulsa Technology Center’s Broken Arrow campus.
